We woke up early and just had enough time to eat yummy, filling breakfast at the hotel restaurant.
We hanged out at the restaurant until our transportation arrived, exactly at 7:00 am.
It was a long ride. 4 hours. After 2 hours of endless country side scenery, we stopped over at a place where they sell handcrafted items. It was sooo cool!
From there it was a couple more hours ride to Halong bay.[youtube:”http://youtu.be/r5nUJHV2zuc”%5D
We finally reached the wharf at Halong around 11.30 and waited for around 30 more minutes for the small motor boat that will bring us to the emotion cruise junk boat.
We were given welcome drinks when we got up the pretty junk boat, oriented about our itinerary, and given our room keys.
Our room was really nice!
tada! We had a very nice view of the cruise and our bathroom even has hot and cold water..
After settling down, we went out to the boat’s restaurant and had a very yummy lunch! 😀
We went up to the boat’s sun deck and enjoyed the scenery.. it was very cold…
Our first activity of the day… Cave exploring!!!
We went down the boat and was taken by the motor boat to the cave.. It was a very long walk up the staircase…
The cave was enormous!
our guide said that it was a hideout of a lot of vietnamese when the americans was bombing vietnam during the war.
Our next activity was in Ti Top island. We rode back up the junk boat again and cruised all the way to the island. We skipped the pearl tourist village because our guide said that there is nothing much to do there because it’s just like a store for pearls. so everyone at the tour decided to skip the pearl tourist village and spend more time at Ti Top island.
It was a very wise decision. We did some huffing and puffing mountain climbing. It was such a nice view from the top…
When we got back to the junk boat, we still had a lot of free time before dinner. To pass the time, we watched Green Lantern in Gio’s laptop in our room.
The movie ended just in time for dinner.. Another yummy meal.
We did some boat exploring after dinner and other passengers went squid fishing.
Unfortunately no one caught any squid. hehe
